Symposium organized on 4 days

  • Three days of exchanges which will take place at the "Palais du Peuple" with oral communications and posters sessions .
  • The last day, optional, is dedicated to a field trip in the Asal Rift and a visit of the Experimental Hydrogeological Site of Atar.
  • Oral presentations in french or in english (service of simultaneous translation). Slides must be written in english with PowerPoint software

Fees and Registration

  • The fee for the conference is 250 USD or 180 EUR and includes attendance at the conference venue, coffee breaks, conference booklet, lunchs, one dinner and airport transfer.
  • The fee for the field trip is 100 USD or 70 EUR and includes transportation, lunch, refreshments and the field trip booklet.
  • Registration, to attend the symposium, is accessible directly on this website, at registration page.
  • The payment will be made exclusively online by credit card, or directly to CERD by bank transfer. All needed information are available at registration page. For other methods of payment please contact the organization.
    Payment of the field trip will be done directly at Djibouti, in cash.
  • The final registration to the symposium will be effective only after payment of the corresponding fees.
  • The invoices will be delivered directly to each participants during the Symposium.

Extended abstract and poster Submission

  • For each accepted abstract, an extended abstract must be submitted. They will constitute the symposium's proceedings which will be given to each participant. Extended abstract should be sent by e-mail at extendedabstract@sihd-2008.com no later than November 28, 2008.
    Please specify in the e-mail your last name, first name, abstract title, institution and professional address
    To format your extended abstract, we recommand to download and modify the exemple file. otherwise, the extended abstract must fit the following recomandations :
    • Word document.
    • 2 to 5 pages.
    • Default margin (right, left, top and bottom) : 2.5cm.
    • Title: times 14 gras
    • Authors and affiliations : times 10
    • 6 Keywords : Times 11.
    • Abstract (maximum 10 lines) : Times 10
    • Paragraphs' title : Times 12 gras
    • Text : Times 12
    • Include tables and figures into the text.
    • Tables and figures in black and white
    • Final references in alphabetical order : Times 11.
  • Independantly or in addition to an oral presentation, you can present your work during the poster sessions. For this purpose, the title of your poster should be sent by e-mail at poster@sihd-2008.com with your last name, first name, institution and professional address
